This ParaYoga® Immersion weekend offers students of all levels an opportunity to study and experience the complete range and power of Yoga. Vinyasa Krama: The Energetics of Sequencing

Integrating the wisdom of yoga, physiology, Ayurveda and Tantra, the energetics of sequencing is the science that sheds light on how to fulfill the potential of practice as well as reach our highest capacity as teachers and practitioners. In this intensive Rod outlines the ancient of principles of how to combine any and all asanas to achieve desired energetic effects, make challenging postures more accessible and transformative, and design evermore masterful practices.

Tantra Vidya: Yoga’s Path to Power and Prosperity

We highlight this ancient tradition’s philosophy and explore Tantra’s approach to yoga practice which could best be summed up as true “power yoga”––whose focus is helping you prosper in every area of life.

Yoga and Ayurveda: The Vital Essences

The three vital essences (prana, tejas, and ojas) provide guiding principles that allow us to approach Yoga as alchemy. These subtle forces are a basis to heal as well as transform body and mind. We overview the key yogic teachings of Ayurveda and the yoga practices that increase and balance each of the vital essences.

ParaYoga: Theory and Application of Bandha

Bandha, the next step after asana, is the gateway to mastering the energetics of yoga. Perfection of bandha increases the reach of asana to heal and balance, steady mind, build creative power, and path the way toward the culmination of practice­––self-realization. We explore the “what” and “why” of bandha and then, through practice, experience its effect on heightening the power and effect of asana.

The Yoga of Fulfillment––An Overview

The Yoga of Fulfillment––the subject of Rod’s new book soon to be published by Bantam––is an inspiring and practical approach to help you truly embody the highest principles of Yoga. Its aim is simple: to help you achieve real and lasting fulfillment as well as material and spiritual accomplishment.

In this workshop Rod outlines this life-changing process, sharing the keys of the ancient teachings that empower you to fulfill your potential, achieve your ideal life and, in the process, become who you are meant to be. Some of the topics covered will include:

  • the role of desire in spiritual life
  • finding your soul’s purpose
  • the spiritual principles of shaping destiny
  • use any and all life-experiences as leverage to greater freedom

Rod Stryker


Rod Stryker is widely considered to be one of the pre-eminent yoga and meditation teachers in the United States. He is the founder of ParaYoga and has taught Tantra, Meditation, and Hatha Yoga for more than thirty years. He is one of the few Western teachers capable of articulating an authentic experience––one that has been practiced and handed down from teacher to student for literally thousands of years.

Rod Stryker, the founder of ParaYoga, credits all of his accomplishments and the many gifts in his life to having been a disciple of two great masters. His first teacher, who he met at the age of 19, was Kavi Yogiraj Mani Finger. Today, Rod is a student of Pandit Rajmani Tigunait Ph.D. and a teacher in the lineage of the great Sri Swami Rama of the Himalayas. In addition to being an accomplished Yogi, noted teacher, lecturer, and writer, Rod also is a master in the art of personalizing Yoga and meditation practices for individuals, known as Anava-Upaya-Yoga.

Rod has recently released "The Four Desires", a book that is published by Bantam. He is on the advisory board of Yoga + Joyful Living magazine, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Himalayan Institute. Rod has owned two highly successful Yoga studios in Los Angeles. His private clients have included a long list of celebrities and high powered professionals.
